Christina had already decided that she wanted to combine pattern and lace on her wedding dress before she came to see me. She loved the delicate geometric design of the lace I’d used for my Larkspur top, and so we set about trying to find a patterned silk that would complement it. Christina and I found lots of options online, but when the swatches arrived we both fell for this blue, green and gold floral patterned crepe-backed satin immediately.
To show off both fabrics, I created a two-piece dress for Christina: a floral silk slip based on my Camellia design, worn underneath a lace dress with a boat-neck, half-sleeves and a gently gathered skirt.
Christina and Graham married at Halifax Hall in Sheffield. Christina’s Scottish and Graham is American, so family and friends travelled from far and wide to celebrate with them.
