Bex got in touch after she’d already purchased a sample dress from a bridal shop. Although she liked the overall shape of the dress she’d bought, she wasn’t in love with it and approached me to see if I could turn it into something she could get excited about.

Her original sample was a strapless, full skirted gown, made from satin and tulle. I made a separate lace over dress with a boat neck, half-sleeves and a row of original vintage glass buttons running down the back. The corded lace Bex chose had a gorgeous scallop edge, which I made the most of by using it across the front and back necklines, sleeves and around the skirt hem.

Bex married her man Al in December, on a perfect bright and crisp winter’s day. After a church ceremony they made their way to the University’s stunning Firth Hall for their wedding breakfast and reception.

“Thank you so much for the stunning work you did on my wedding dress. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day. I am so grateful for all the time and effort you put into it. Lots of love to you and your lovely family.” Bex
